One of the heroes of the Pittsburgh Steelers over the course of their storied history and great tradition is Robert Patrick "Rocky" Bleier. Bleier was a fine running back for the Black and Gold from 1971 to 1980 but was originally drafted out of the University of Notre Dame in 1968. Bleier is a Vietnam veteran and war hero and has written a book titled “Fighting Back.” Fighting back tells the story of Bleier’s approach to living to his potential. The book tells the tale of the famed running back’s childhood years and his lessons in life growing up in Appleton, Wisconsin as well as his struggles as a student at Notre Dame and his football days there and in Pittsburgh.
