Member Spotlight: Samuel Doughty

This month Id like to introduce everyone to Sam Doughty, aka Boss Geek.  I recently spoke with the Daytona Beach Boss, and hes looking forward to another solid season for the Black and Gold while hanging out with the Family at The Winghouse of Daytona Beach

- How long have you been a Steeler fan, and what was your earliest Steeler
memory?
I have always been a fan of the Steel Curtain and the Steelers from the 1970s.  I used to play offensive and defensive in little league and high school and always wanted to play as tough as the Steel Curtain did.  My earliest Steeler memory is the the famous catch of Lynn Swan catching a TD pass from Terry Bradshaw and leaping over a car in the 1979 game versus the Cleveland Browns.

- Do you have a favorite current player and/or all time favorite? My favorite current player is Bryant McFadden, because he is a strong player and former Florida State Seminoles star.  My all time favorite player is running back Rocky Bleier.  Rocky was a great running back and I have a greater respect for him because he served his country in Vietnam.

- Do you have any game day rituals, or do anything special for Steeler games? My only game day rituals include putting on my black and gold Steelers jersey, grab my 6 time Super Bowl Champion hat and put it on and put my terrible towel in my back pocket and I am ready to go.

- How long have you been in the Mafia? I have been a member of the Steel City Mafia for about a year now and enjoy every moment since.

- What does being a member of Steeler Nation mean to you? Being a member of the Steeler Nation is being a part of a brotherhood.  I have respect for anyone who worships the black and gold.  It makes you feel proud to wear the black and gold colors and people want to stop and show their appreciation for you wearing it as well.

- Do you think the Rooneys and the Steeler organization handled the Roethlisberger situation adequately?  I feel that the Rooney's family and the Steeler organization should of taken more matters dealing with Ben Roethlisberger situation than allow the NFL to interfere.  I also feel that the Rooney family has had several discussions with Ben to make sure that he needs to conduct himself properly.

- How would you rate the recent draft picks for the Steelers in the recent NFL draft?  I feel that the recent draft picks from the Steelers provided a strong foundation for the 2010 - 2011 football season.  To list a few, I was very impressed with being able to provide a very strong center, Maurkice Pouncey, who will give our QBs valuable time to execute passes better and provide wide open holes for our RBs to run through.  I believe the All ACC selection, Jason Worilds, will provide us with a strong secondary on defense.  I believe he will provide the necessary QB pressure we need.
